These policies are Comprehensive Coverage, which are much broader coverage's then most other policies. (The majority of physical damage policies are written on a specified perils form, which is more restrictive then "comprehensive.") Please contact our recruiting department, at 888-516-5534, if you have any further questions. Mileage As a contractor with Transport Designs, Inc. you can expect 10,000 to 13,000 miles per month. Our average dispatch is 1,250 miles, and this is a benefit to you because you're not loading and unloading every day. Compensation Transport Designs, Inc. pays each contractor per mile. You will run under our authority. The current rate of pay you can expect is $.90 per mile (effective 10/1/10), loaded and empty. The percentage of empty miles is averaging 5-6%, which is much lower then the national average. Fuel surcharge is passed onto the Contractor and fluctuates based on the Department of Energy's National Average and our customer contract. Our average fuel surcharge for the week of August 30th is around $.34 CPM! Reimbursements Business phone calls --per the rate on your bill or $.09 for cellular calls Lumpers Tolls Scales Permits --if you need to buy any Stop-offs --$40.00 for 1st extra stop & $50.00 for each after (1st and last are free) Detention Layover Fuel Tax Each quarter Transport Designs, Inc. will figure out your fuel tax. If any is owed, we will charge you back. If there is a surplus, we will credit you back. Settlements You can expect to receive your settlement 4 business days from turning your completed trip envelope into the settlement department. For your convenience, we can either mail your settlement home or we can do a direct deposit into your checking account. DOT Inspections To recognize responsible contractors, we give $25.00 to any contractor who receives a "no violations found" Driver Vehicle Roadside Inspection. We will provide for your lunch, dinner, and hotel expenses while you are here.
