coverage's then most other policies. (The majority of physical damage policies are written on a specified perils form, which is more restrictive then "comprehensive.")

Mileage & Compensation
Mileage
As a contractor with Transport Designs, Inc. you can expect 11,000 to 13,000 miles per month, average; however, don't limit yourself to the average. We have some contractors doing 15,000-16,000 a month depending on how hard they run.
Our average dispatch is 1,400 miles, and this is a benefit to you because you're not loading and unloading every day.
Compensation
Transport Designs, Inc. pays each contractor per mile. You will run under our authority. The current rate of pay you can expect is $.85 per mile, loaded and empty. The percentage of empty miles is averaging 5-6%, which is much lower then the national average. Also, we compensate anywhere from $.01 to $.05 extra per mile depending upon length of haul (empty miles are always paid at base rate).
Fuel surcharge is passed onto the Contractor and fluctuates based on the Department of Energy's National Average and our customer contract. For examples of the fuel surcharge you can visit the following website:

NEW Bonus Program
Owner Operators now have the chance to earn a quarterly mileage bonus. Each owner operator that puts on 32,500 miles per quarter will receive a flat $1200.00 for that quarter.

Fuel Tax
Each quarter Transport Designs, Inc. will figure out your fuel tax. If any is owed, we will charge you back. If there is a surplus, we will credit you back.
Settlements
You can expect to receive your settlement 4 business days from turning your completed trip envelope into the settlement department. For your convenience, we can either mail your settlement home or we can do a direct deposit into your checking account.
DOT Inspections
To recognize responsible contractors, we give $25.00 to any contractor who receives a "no violations found" Driver Vehicle Roadside Inspection.

Contractors are welcome to take part in the Minnesota Truck Driving Championships
Orientation
Orientation will take place at our Burnsville, Minnesota office. We will provide for your lunch, dinner, and hotel expenses while you are here. If you are contracted less then 90 days, for any reason, we will charge you back for the costs we incurred to get you through orientation. It is a 2-day process.
