Company Driver Insurance Information
Health Insurance
We are currently offering Health Insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota. With a co-pay, it will cover your office visits, emergency, and prescription drugs.
To be eligible, you must be employed as a full-time driver for Transport Designs, Inc. for 90 days. Eligibility begins on the 1st day of the month, after completing your 90 days. The cost is based upon age.
Transport Designs, Inc. will pay 50% of the employees monthly premium. If there is a need for insurance for spouse or children, the driver will pick up the full cost of the premium.
Short-Term Disability Insurance
Recommended by the Minnesota Trucking Association, we are able to offer Short Term Disability Insurance with American Fidelity Assurance Company.
To be eligible, you must be employed as a full-time driver by Transport Designs, Inc. for 90 days. Eligibility begins on the 1st day of the month, after completing
3 months of employment.

Company Driver Equipment, Mileage & Compensation
Equipment
We currently have a fleet of late model
semi-trucks, such as Internationals and
Freightliners with ¾ or condo style roofs.
There are 10 and 13 speeds and they are set
at approximately 65 m.p.h. The trailers will all be 53-foot dry vans. All equipment is maintained properly and goes through regular maintenance inspections.
The vast majority of the company equipment have manual transmissions, but we do have a few units that are automatic. Please make your recruiter aware if you require an automatic transmission.
Mileage
As a driver with Transport Designs, Inc. you can expect 11,000 to 13,000 miles per month, average; however, don't limit yourself to the average. We have some drivers doing 15,000-16,000 a month depending on how hard they run.
Our average dispatch is 1400 miles, and this is a benefit to you because you're not loading and unloading every day.
Compensation
Base rates are based on Experience and dedication to employment. We also compensate anywhere from $.01 to $.05 extra per mile depending upon length of haul (empty miles are always paid at base rate). Please contact recruiting at 888-516-5534 for more details!

Company Driver Bonus Programs
Mileage Bonus
Drivers are eligible for the $.01 mileage bonus, if they complete 120,000 in 12 months. The 12-month period runs from December 1st to November 30th each year. You will be given the $.01 for all miles up to and over the 120,000. You can expect a "lump sum" check to be mailed to your home on or around the 15th of December.
Safety Bonus
The Safety bonus is designed to reward drivers for their safe and professional driving. To be eligible a driver must put on 100,000 miles within the calendar year and they must be all accident free. A driver can expect $.005 per mile for all of the miles driven in the calendar year.
Recruiting Bonus
Any employed driver with Transport Designs, Inc. is eligible to receive a recruiting bonus. If you recruit another company driver, you will receive $500.00 and if you recruit a contractor you will receive $1000.00. The new recruit must remain with Transport Designs, Inc. 90 days to receive the full bonus.
Company Driver Settlements & Other Benefits
Settlements
You can expect to receive your settlement 4 business days from turning your completed trip envelope into the payroll department. For your convenience we can either mail your settlement home or we can direct deposit into your checking account.
Paid Vacation
You can expect to receive 1 week paid vacation after 1 year of employment and 2 weeks paid after your 3 year anniversary. If you do not use your vacation time as paid, it can be cashed out at the end of the year.
DOT Inspections
To recognize responsible drivers, we give a $25.00 bonus to any driver who receives a "no violations found" Driver Vehicle Inspection. There is no limit on the number of bonuses a driver can receive.

Orientation
Orientation will take place at our Burnsville, Minnesota office. If you are eligible to come in for orientation, we will make arrangements to get you to Savage. We will also pay for your lunch, dinner and hotel expenses while you are here. If you are employed less then 90 days, for any reason, we will charge you back for the costs we incurred to get you to/through orientation. It is a 3-day process.
